L\u2019any 1999, el pintor Joan Vila-Grau va rebre la comanda de dissenyar i realitzar els vitralls que formen el gran finestral de la fa\u00e7ana de Ponent de la Sagrada Fam\u00edlia. Va estudiar el temple i tamb\u00e9 el concepte i la funci\u00f3 dels vitralls en les diferents obres d\u2019Antoni Gaud\u00ed, i va emprendre la realitzaci\u00f3 del finestral de la Resurrecci\u00f3, que va ser instal\u00b7lat a mitjan 2001. La Junta Constructora del Temple de la Sagrada Fam\u00edlia li va encomanar el disseny i la realitzaci\u00f3 de la totalitat dels vitralls d\u2019aquest temple, tasca en la qual continua des d\u2019aquell any.
